Regulator rectifier mounting location

I want to mount my regulator rectifier in my bunk under my seat but I'm not sure if it will overheat in there. Does it need to be located in a place with lots of airflow ?

More air the better. I removed the electric start on mine and placed it in the starter pocket via a custom bracket. It is out of sight and gets plenty of air.
