removing head without removing engine

Got tired of pulling engine to do head or top end work. So borrowed idea from Top Fuel Dragbikes. removable top bar.

Dam that is extreme. I have heard of an old trick of removing the studs and sliding them out then the barrels and head can be removed without removing the motor. Have to remove the motor the first time to free up the studs. Never tried it and no one has ever suggested it before so maybe it is not a good idea. Just saying
 
I had seen that in the paperwork I have from the 70's. I figured this would be easier.Only 4 bolts and unplug the wiring. Won't have to disconnect the chain or manhandle the engine out of the frame,not getting any younger.
