I just about have all the parts I need to start my rebuild, but lack a few pricey ones such as what MikesXS calls the "Cam Chain Tensioner Pivot Arm Assembly". OEM its called Guide, Stopper 2.
A new one will cost $65 + the hefty S&H fee for UPS delivery. I've read some criticism about the quality of the components of this replacement.
I had noticed some fraying rubber edges, but it wasn't until I digitally zoomed in and cropped to reveal what looks like horrific condition and a no-brainer as to whether to replace.
Is there anyway to clean up these edges to maintain functionality while preventing shards of rubber from coming off?
Or just replace and be done with it?
