El thicko, here, why is the left front rocker cover square & larger than the other 3?

The original head casting had a big mother compression relaese for starting on that, it was eliminated but didn't change the casting.

The 1970 71 bikes with no electric start had all four small valve covers.

Other than the difference in the covers, the heads are the same.....correct?

Hmm define the same? they are different in that the left exhaust valve area is different. I think there are a few other changes through the years. No expert on the interchanges I think they can all be made to work. I believe the 70 71 cylinder head gasket is a different shape.

I was just curious if they would interchange. I assume the cam and bearings are the same other than the cam sprocket. I am not familiar with all the differences.
