Some of us run without the upper mount, just a thought. Try the google search on 'upper motor mount', or 'top motor mount', or 'engine mount'. Plenty opinions there...

So I was sniffing around in the tech section and found this pic posted in the hardtail thread. Is there any drawback to running the stock upper mount without the bar but adding a better gusset?

I was out in the garage having a smoke and I kept looking at it and it was bugging the shit out of me so off it came!
I'm at the point now that everything that won't be used or that will be made better is cut off the frame and I can start reworking everything.
