You use the wrench to take out the bolt so you can slide the shifter off the shaft and turn the shifter up or down a spline to adjust the height.
Yeah, I have the shifter right where I like it for ankle comfort, seems all new boots have a break in period where they're a pain in the ass untill the toe section flattens or conforms to the shifter. Just one of those things.

Me and my wife stopped at a friends house for the night on a cold rainy weekend in September. She's showing off my camo rain paints I pulled out of my fishing gear before we left. She thinks they are pretty ugly, but glad I grabbed them.
