some wiring diagrams

Well, I have had back surgery and I really like the ride on my boulevard. It rides like a Cadillac. On my XS I am using a Large La Pera seat from JP cycles and 4 inch springs mounted. It rides nice, well nicer than it would've been, otherwise. The big seat gives my back and butt plenty of support, and the springs help take the bumps out from the crappy roads. Better than hard mounting the seat. Oh, by the way those spring over shocks for seats are rated to 300lbs. each. So it's like sitting on a 2x4 board. I bought some and tried them. Yeah, waste of money, there is NO give to them. Besides the springs from JP cycles were super cheap too; in price that is. The quality is superior. And they showed up at the house in two days. Fast shipping

Do you suggest or recommend the pamco and pma system? I see that's what your running

Yes, I do. The PAMCO is a permanent magnet system. It is very reliable and easy to do. They send all of the information needed to do the swap and if there are any questions they have excellent customer service. I would always suggest the PAMCO swap. No doubt about it!!

The swap changes a three piece, unreliable charging system into a two piece. It's Plug and Play!!

That link is for the entire ignition and charging system. If you are wanting to get away from points and condenser then I would say, do it all. I have it all and I enjoy not having to worry about electrics. If you are just worried about charging then go with this: https://www.mikesxs.net/product/24-2669.html
My bike unfortunately, is kick only. I have another motor, that has a starter and good lower end, that I need to go through and install. My motor has a bad trans, and no starter. Plus it's a serious pain to kick start with bad back. So, anyways I will be swapping out the motor and going electric start!!

By doing either of these swaps will not effect your starting system. It just takes all of the outdated, unreliable parts out and replaces them with solid state electronics. Meaning superior reliability and completely updated new parts with a company that stands behind them. Win win situation. If you have the cash, I would do the entire system. Again they come with detailed instructions and access to a help line. They are pretty much straight forward, if you know how to use tools that is. LOL....

I do stand corrected. It will effect your starting system, but not the use of the starter. It will effect how the engine is fired. New coil, better ignition, better spark. It should use less juice to start, because it will start better.

I agree the PAMCO or BOYER plus a PMA makes the bike better runner. Your old parts are worth money too as long as they work so I would sell them first get the new then do a harness. I just shipped one out today to someone on here in Savannah Ga who is running that setup. His was kick only . Harness is simple when switching over to those less wires and doing electric start no problem. Yes I am not making any for a little while because I got to jump around and be in FL by Friday to test some race bikes I built. Get back to New York by Monday because my daughter had her baby but there are a couple problems she was very small and still in hospital. Then the biggie I am homeless HAHA and got to get a roof over my head. Looking to move up to the Toms River /Barnegat area .. So in between that I got to open the garage back up and get the guys working every one calling and bike week is in two weeks and no I can't go wife already pissed at me..... HAHA So I can talk you threw it but don't look like I am doing any soon SORRY HIT UP Dirty Dog he's doing some work . I do have some video's on YOUTUBE JD'S Board Track harness is on there and one with turn signals.
KEEP CHOPPIN
Bags Packed and these bikes better run in the 7's HAHA

Wow, so what you're saying is, you don't have anything going on. You have everything going on! Dang! Busier than a two puckered billy goat!
I made my own wiring harness, the PO had wired more extensions than Whoppie Goldberg. What a mess!
Before I put the new motor in I will rewire everything again!

DaddyGCycles; I watched a couple of your videos and mine doesn't kick over that easy! Mine kicks like an old Harley!! I'm sure I need go through my carbs too. The PO put sudco carbs on it. I don't know if he rejetted them or not though. I figure I am in for a total rebuild. Single carb intake(homemade) fresh motor with electric start, good lower end that goes through all gears....... and so on..

kind of hate that you cant speak to anyone on the phone over at mikesxs..so im hoping i ordered the right kit and they send the right kit. i know intructinions will come with the kit but is there anything else i should know, do i have to mess with the timing?

I couldn't remember if I talked to anyone or not, when I ordered mine either. Yes, timing is part of the process, when pulling the old off and installing the new.

First off read the directions first, don't jump ahead or try doing it right out of the box. If you take your time and read it all, then you will most likely not make a mistake. If you can do your own hardtail and wiring you can do this swap.

If you have any issues by all means get on here and ask! There are a mass amount of knowledge on here that we all use from time to time. There are specialists on here that seriously know their stuff; like they sleep with the full manufacturers manual on the thing.

Im running through my schematics. Im making sure before I send you down the wrong road.
If you are replacing the ignition with the PAMCO and replacing the stator with PMA, I believe it is omitted. Because the PAMCO takes its place.

I will double check though. Anything I can do to help out. That's why we are all here.

im just playing with it trying to figure it out with the stock stuff. but yes im sure it will was be different whent he kit comes it

Ok it comes from the pick-up and goes to the ignition module, which in turn goes to the coils.
At the original connection, those wires coming from the pick-up connect to white/ blue, white/red and white/green right?!

If so, then the new electronic ignition will eliminate the pick-up.
