Anyone else ever have one of these? Grease went everywhere and the speedo went dead after getting up over 85.. Good times lol

it is said you are not supposed to lube the top six inches of a cable to keep grease/oil from migrating up into the instrument

My speedo only goes to 80 and has a warning that if you're going faster than 55 you're breaking Nixon's national speed limit.

Actually I did not think to take pics. I tossed the cable at the next gas station, but there's still grease splattered on the wheel!

My cable has also just died, inner piece snapped off at the bottom end going down the motorway.
Must have been rubbing on the outer case as it was making a loud whining noise before the speedo suddenly stopped work.
It had me worried for a minute as I wasn't sure where it was coming from.

The low spot where water settles and rust destroys the inner liner. The lesson? Don't ever wash your bike!
