Tank Identification: What Bike Did This Come From?

I've had this tank for a long time. I got it in a box 'extra' parts from a motorcycle deal. I think the guy just wanted to clean out his garage.

1/4 turn twist-on cap and threaded on petcock (no reserve). I have no idea what bike it's from...

Some more info... the other parts that came in the 'box' were all mid to late 60s dirt bike stuff.
Searching for old Yamaha stuff didn't turn up anything... The front mounts are similar to some BSA, Moto Guzzi and Ducati Scrambler tanks based on viewing photos on Google..
However, I've not seen anything like the rear mounts. Drawing an imaginary line through the front and rear mounts suggests an angled frame backbone... Almost chopper or hard-tail like... Hmmm

From the paint it looks like army surplus, lol.

Could be anything... The guy said he used ride Indians... But couldn't find a match there either.

Petcock looks like an early Ducati/ MV Agusta

Yep, some Guzzis used petcocks that looked a lot like that too, but with a reserve function.

I noticed that petcock also. Below are real close but missing the lower tank mounts. Obviously a make/model not seen often

Possibly zundapp, Jawa, Peugeot? lesser known bikes but still very much in that same family/style

Found it... Harley-Davidson (Aermacchi) 250 Sprint, sold between 1961 - 1969 per Wikipedia.
