Tire clearance question...

Is this on a hard tail? If so, not a problem. The brace won't get any closer to the tire. If you have suspension then as the suspension travels the tire will hit.
The right side looks a bit tighter. I might cut the brace free from the sissy bar rebend it so the bend comes closer to the fender then weld it back to the sissy bar.

Yes it is a hard tail. Since my welding friend is out of commission for the time being, can't I just get a slightly thinner tire and avoid it?
 
Using a thinner tire might improve the handling a bit. The thinner tire will turn in quicker than a wider tire.
Go to a shop and look at tires Compare the widths.
