Tire clearance question...

So my sissy bar cross bar for underneath my fender kind of hangs low. The tire on my bike now (just for mockup, it's being replaced) is an 18" 5.00-5.10. Judging from the pictures, would I be good with a 4.50 or should I go all the way to 4.00?

anybody got any input on this? also, what is a reliable/lower priced tire i should be looking at?

Is this on a hard tail? If so, not a problem. The brace won't get any closer to the tire. If you have suspension then as the suspension travels the tire will hit.
The right side looks a bit tighter. I might cut the brace free from the sissy bar rebend it so the bend comes closer to the fender then weld it back to the sissy bar.

Yes it is a hard tail. Since my welding friend is out of commission for the time being, can't I just get a slightly thinner tire and avoid it?

Yes. A thinner tire will give you a bit more room.

So seeing as the tire on there now is 5.00-5.10, how much smaller should I go? 4.10 gunna be too small?

Using a thinner tire might improve the handling a bit. The thinner tire will turn in quicker than a wider tire.
Go to a shop and look at tires Compare the widths.
