Does anyone have any suggestions for mounting a TR3 tank, replacing a peanut from Low Brow? I know welding on a used tank is a great way to win a Darwin award, I already have so many runners up ribbons there's not enough room on the mantle for a trophy. I was thinking rubber bushings on the frame and a leather and/or steel strap to secure it across the top. Any suggestions would be grealyg appreciated. Pics of what I have are below.

Hope these made it. It has stock frame around the engine.

Personally, I like the look of the peanut tank. From what I can see, the whole bike has a tough industrial vibe to it.

I like the look also, however I'm tired of filling it twice a day and/or running out of gas. As advertised at 2.2 gallons, actually 1.7 gallons. The TR 3 is 3.5 gallons.

I'm building a hard tail similar to yours, same tank I think. I found that a fuel warning sender that I had from a Honda Magna had almost the same threads as the large bung on the tank. I ran a pipe die over the brass threads of the sender and it fits in the tank real nice. So, I should have a fuel warning light, and will not have to mess with a reserve petcock.

Still, that small tank will have a range of about 100 miles, maybe less. Depends on what kind of riding you're gonna do with it. I always did like to hang around gas stations.
