Tron- 77 mutt brabber build

Pretty much finished my paint, as well as painted the pipes then heat wrapped them.

Also made two franken petcocks out of 2 old ones and a new one and hopefully sealed them up.

The PO use jb weld to "seal" the old petcocks in and it was a realllllly big pain in the ass to scrap and break off all the old jb. I found one of the petcock filters inside the tank as it must have broke off at some point too. Once i was back down to smooth tank openings, I used a bit of a fuel resistant gasket maker to seal in the petcock bolts.

What I need left to ride:

Rebuild rear drum
Charge battery

What I need to ride LEGALLY

Mount my new bar end mirrors
Mount and wire in signals/new left hand controls

Hope you enjoy the pics

Rode the bike today!

After deciding to do a total rewire..and got to a few other things as well, redid the seat. Decided I hated the brown one, looked like hell, and was a little bit too firm.

Tore apart the seat that came with the bike, cut the foam down to fit my pan, and re-used the black seat cover.

Wiring was a huge pain but the bike rides a lot smoother after tearing out the old p.o's work. It was quite a mess. Installed led signals, deleted my speedo, simplified the harness, no headlight on/off, no kill switch, and small battery.

In store for this month: New tires, paint/powder wheels, new air filters I hope, and maybe a few other bits and pieces.

I will post some pics of the wire clean up and seat build.

looking good! You should set your brake arm at the 7 o'clock position, instead of at 5 o'clock like you have it now. it will work better that way.

Heres a quick vid I made.

Also, tires are ordered! Top secret on what they are, but should add some character for sure. Should be here and on by middle of next week, as I still have to clean up and paint the wheels.

Enjoy.

dude cool ass bike, but is is a fucking CRIME that you painted over that tank. that shit was a priceless work of white trash art.

could have traded it to a guy with a mullet and 2 teeth for a 12 pack of natty ice.

So, As far as Im concerned, the bike is pretty well done. I still need to pull the cover and see what the P.O. created, and maybe clean up the bars a bit, but for now, im happy.

This week I tore the bike apart for paint and painted the following:

Wheels
Bar Clamps
Forks
Frame touch ups
Re-painted side covers
And some other miscellaneous parts

I also mounted my new trail wing tires, polished the engine cases, degreased and cleaned the entire frame, and engine, cleaned and serviced my brakes front and rear, and re-wrapped my seat so its a bit tighter.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

HAHAHA:laugh:

It was immortalized on this board. It had a good run, but its gone to the big airbush cloud in the sky thank God. LOL

Looking good man!

Update time!

I decided, just a few days ago, I wanted a scrambler. So i made one

I changed the bike around a bit, really to just make it more fun then it already is. Now I can rip dirt roads and jump curbs!

I re-thought out the plate mount and made a crappy little one out of aluminum..Team effort (thanks for the attempt Jim)

I also have been riding the piss out of it and its getting awesomely ratty

How do you like the Trail Wing tires? I've decided that I need some dual sport tires instead of the pure street tires I have now, as I live on a dirt road that (like last night) can get muddy and a little slick.

Im really enjoying the trail wings..

I daily the bike, and the only downside is they are a bit slick on the road when its wet out.

I love bombing it down dirt roads though

You never said, or somehow I missed it, what you found under that lovely right side cover the PO put on it. Was it just to cover the Yamaha?
