Vibration suppression

The 360 crank has a strong primary unbalance. This is partially balanced out by the flywheel. A certain percentage of the rod and piston weight is opposite on the flywheel. This is always over 50% as front/back unbalance isn't as bad as up and down.

A 270 crank, or any other than 360, introduces a rocking couple. A 180 has it the most. I seem to feel this as a tingle. The vertical twin with the cylinders far apart would accentuate rocking couple vibration.

Just chatting for interest.

Balanced carbs and ignition help vibration at speed. I did fill my handle bars with a shot filled hose. It seemed to eliminate any vibration below 65 mph.
