Did you make your pipes? Are the ends plugged and the holes in the side where the exhaust comes out? is that for reducing back pressure?

Morning Guys kicker in red yepers.
I am a red kinda guy.

I didn't make the pipes Joewiswguy made them. They are his hotrodpipes.
The ends are plugged
I would think the ends beingplugged would increase back pressure.
I do know that straight pipes need at least a through bolt near the end at the pipe to help with that.
They do shoot the sound outward I can hear the echo as I pass cars mailboxes and such.

I went for a short ride again today. I am trying to get all of the kinks out of my bike. I will have to pull the carbs because of sticky floats. The vm34's really perk-up this motorcycle. I am sure glad I purchased them from MMM.
His jetting was spot-on only a little tweeking. It now idles at
1000 rpm or lower after warmed up. The eight-pack clutch and hydraulic cylinders perform as expected. Thanks again Clayton. I am almost there. I need another headlight switch. The two Mallory capacitors are a steal. After two prime kicks it starts first or second kick. It is great not having to worry about a battery. Tony C.

Carbon I ride year round. Fog is what we have to fear. It has not been bad for about five years. We need rain. Temps in the winters lows can reach 30's highs 50's.

Picked up the AGM battery I ordered for the SG from Cycle Gear. Will Install it in the A.M..

load music, beers and fitted dampers on side covers. straighten bent headlight rim, allballs stem bearings, prepping for reassembly when chrome comes back. lord knows i really want to run it around the block its only been 40 years since i rode the xs.

I've done a lot as of late. PMA and Sparx Capacitor conversion. New handlebars. New headlight, which was immediately stripped of paint and clear coated. New electronics box, etc.

PMA + new headlight is AWESOME. I can finally see at night!

Love it mate, well done

Just fitted a set of VTR1000 firestorm (superhawk) forks and yolks (triple trees) and started to remove all unwanted lugs/brackets.....First job in what is going to be a 12 month rebuild......Next the rear end... any ideas????

Hi charlie,
yolks is the yellow bits in the middles of eggs. But you meant YOKES, right?
A fancy rear end to match the front? Something monoshockish?

Love it mate, well done

Nice job! Man that building looks familiar, even the graffiti

Thanks guys! The building is in a strip of abandoned crap on Taft Highway at Old River Rd just South of Southwest Bakersfield. This area of California is pretty shitty, but makes for some very interesting scenery (if you like looking at decay) and great rides.
