....or perhaps she figured we were all lost causes and perhaps her next child would be a girl.
Back then there was an expected failure rate for kids. We would climb into shopping carts in the grocery store parking lots and get towed around on the constantly shaking wheels behind pick-ups. Some of us survived to reproduce.
....indeed....but it wasn't always the optimal ones who survived.....
Well four years after I was born they did have a girl!
