What's this?

Can someone identify this part just below the coil? I can't find it in my diagrams. It's on an 81 special.

Turn signal canceling unit.

I am assuming I can get rid of this? I have replaced the turn signals with led's, installed an electronic flasher and, always cancel them manually anyway.

Yup it can go. There's a thread on doing it.
