Hello I have a 1981 XS650H and was working on the wire harness under the gas tank and the wire straps broke, I have not been able to find new ones, I currently have zip ties but I am afraid the tab will wear into the tank over time from vibration, anyone have any ideas for new ones or replacement.
Thank you for your time and response Ron

Hi Ron,
a memorable quote from a long ago Daily Mirror advice column:-
to worried browneyes from Brighton; what you fear cannot happen from what you describe.
Especially if you fasten the zip ties so that their pull-tabs are underneath the frame tube.

Are you looking for the 25G-83936-01-00 Straps?

http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/power/Y-25G-83936-01-00.html

Or the 437-83936-11-00?

For either one of these look over to the left side of the page and click on the picture that has the ruler in it to figure out the length of each.

But like Fred says if you just position the tab end of the zip-tie away from the tank it should not rub.

One more point the way I was ale to find those was to just Google the part number, and at least one of the part numbers also shows up as being used on a Yamaha golf cart so if there is a Yamaha golf cart dealer near you try them.

And if you want to know how to find out the part number, just go to Yamaha!

Click on the "Star Motorcycle" link to the right and enter the year of your bike and the model.
