1970-1971 gauges were plastic, don't have that metal shell.

1972-1973 gauges have a removable metal shell, but the lens and bezel are affixed to the top of the shell

Hi Sarilhos,
like 2many says, "your instrument looks different". Does it match the tachometer?
Most likely it's an "orphan", salvaged from a different bike and sorry, no, I have no idea how to take it apart.
I'd suggest you look for a used XS1 speedo to replace it.
Or give up on getting it chromed and paint it instead.

Thanks for all the replies.

The tachometer and speedometer are both equal, they both have an external shell.
The difference maybe be that the previous owner have changed them
(pretty unlikely, not easy to find parts here in Portugal and the bike was stored for the last 20 years, no ebay lol)

Or it maybe this is one of the last 20 XS1B, I think.

I tried to rotate the pin clock wise, but can only listen a click.
I thought it may detach in the area marked with the red circle.
No luck.

maybe i will cut it and re-attache with some mini threaded rod ...
it has 5mm (around 0.1968 inch), probably some M2 thread

Hi Sarilhos,
If your speedo is assembled the same way as the later ones the odometer reset pin goes on with a LEFThand thread so you are turning it the proper way.
You may find that it's just stuck from being there from new.
Is it possible to access the shaft that it's screwed onto with a pair of small bent needle-nose pliers to hold the shaft still as you turn the reset pin?

Thanks Fred.
Yes i will try to use a decent set of pliers to old the bottom .
Can you confirm that the area marked in red is where the left-and screw is ?
