Yet another chop..........

Definately!
The only thing is you have to make sure youre only removing material from the high spots and undercutting anything, that was one of the benefits of growing up with a dad who was a blacksmith/boilermaker for 30 years.:D
So if anybody else on here does this take youre time and watch what youre doing:)

Haha i hear ya. Had to do some filling and re filing on a couple of spots. My grinding and polishing skills have greatly improved since the beginning of this build. Bad thing was at first i did everything with hand files. Didnt start die grinding till most of the way through

Nothing wrong with that,it builds character!
I still do a lot of work with hand tools,I spent more time whittling on this early gpz head then id like to remember this shot was about 1/2 way through the exterior dolling up process:doh:

That's actually my 74 z1 900 being built into a 1385 turbo/nitrous urban assault bike, the head began its career on an 81-82 gpz 1100 buts it gone well beyond anything mother kaw ever dreamed of.
The frame is raked 3 degrees and has the most insane bracing/gusseting job Ive ever done.
The things that happen when have too many spare parts and chrome moly tubing laying around!
I did all the extra welding on steering tubes so Id have enough material to smooth them off into steering head area

You plan to use that front fender for the rear? or are you still waiting on 7metals west? If you don't plan to use it let me know, I'll buy them off ya ;p

Yep those Cole foster tanks are cool.
I found 2 of them. Been thinking about getting one.
It sure is a crown of glory sitting on the top of an XS650 engine.

O.K. Its been awhile since Ive been on here. Have not got anything done in my absence however..... Think bugle sound ...... 7 Metal west fender. Check!!! Came in yesterday. Thank the heavens above. Only took 4 months. Working crazy hours at new job so don't know when Ill get a day to tool around. Irish, it was great hanging with you. Ill definitely use your suggestion on mounting fire extinguisher. Man its going to take awhile to catch up on all the builds. Jdizon I did manage to see that tank you'll be rockin, very cool.
