Congrats on an excellent job: it's got all the essential Brit bike elements from the late sixties wrapped around the bulletproof engine. I've just started a similar project using a '73 TX650A, the main distinction will be a drum brake up front. And, as much as I like cafe racers, it's a breath of fresh air to see a different approach. Well done.
Sorry about the delayed response: mega computer crash that needed big money to fix. I'm using a 230mm Grimeca 4ls because it has a speedo drive. If I had the cash, I would've liked a Smith Kanrin because they're Japanese, but they're also double the price. I've finished planning, and started the build, which will ultimately have a range of elements from most Brit bikes. I've had to scrub painting the mudguards but will use painted mudguard stays. Never mind, BSA's had stainless guards, thin Japanese chrome will be a reasonable substitute...as long as you don't look to closely.
OK, simple: Grimeca make double sided, twin-leading shoe brakes; they've been doing it for years. The Ceriani (same as the motocross forks) is made under license now. Both are good, only the former takes a speedo drive. The Smith Kanrin is made in Japan, is very good and beautifully finished - but you pay for it, too. Check out the Disco Volante website; it's a bloke called Howard Davies, in Wales. He's good to deal with, and could advise you about what's best for that nice job you've done.
