This might sound crazy but I paint my frame all the time with rustoleum high gloss black using a small foam brush. My bike spent it first 39 years driving on gravel roads. Chips everywhere. Now you can’t even tell. Every winter I touch it up.

I actually get really depressed in the winter because I love being outside. I ride until it's about 30F, sometimes colder. What the coldest you've ridden in?

I use a product called por 15 to cover any rust areas or areas subject to gravel impacts. Then paint it with 2K poly.
