Not for the faint hearted ;-) Here we go The bike is stuttering at mid revs and refuses to go any faster than 50miles an hour (xs2 with mikuni bs38 Solex carbs, megaton exhausts and Uni pod filters)... Visible symptoms: The spark plugs are completely black The mixture screws are fully turned...

i have just received the coils for my xs650 (XS2 from 1971) and started proceeding to replacement but I am a bit puzzled as I expected them to match the old ones. The coils come from Heiden Tuning in Holland and are replacements for all xs650 with contact point ignition. As you can see on...

i initially thought it was something to do with carbs... So had a thorough clean, changed gaskets, checked the main jet size (140... I use pods and short megaton exhausts and the bike used to run well with this jet before)... Noticed the diaphragms were old and had small holes so ordered a brand...

Ahhhh the mechanic mentioned a hole in the diaphragm that he fixed with some sort of glue... Could be this How do you test them ??? Posted via Mobile
