Thanks for the information, alas these are of the FCR-MX type and do have both a cold start enrichener aka choke and a hot start, let's call it "lean out" lever...
I measured the throat of the carbs and they are 37.8mm, I'd say they are of the FCR-MX37 type - comparing to pics and parts...

The carbs are actually fitted and I managed to start the bike up once... and never again...
The carbs came off new european 450ccm trails bike in the factory, when these needed to be retrofitted with FI to cope with new emission regulations.

I am new to the forum and would need some help for fitting a set of Keihin FCR 38 to my XS.
The engine has a slight overbore (670ccm) and a ported head, but running on standard cams.
I know that the 38mm carbs are on the very large side when using a pair of them, but I have them on...
