  • Seeing your like on "wanted 13.5 inch shocks" you assume I need an "attitude" adjustment on the tracker. It does look just "not quite right" to me and a lift in the back might be the ticket. The konls seem fine so far, just short. I have not adjusted the dampening yet but put the preload to lowest and get ~1 inch sag with my fat ass on the saddle.Cheers.
    Gary, I/ve decided to build a 700 with a Shell#1 cam. I'm going to have the crank welded and heavy duty rods installed but pretty much stock internals with a stock (other than valve springs) head, and I'll be running 1/2 mile flat track pipes. Have you ever used head pipe torque inserts?

    I have them on Madness a high comp 750 with 1 3/4" stainless headers but you might have seen my comments in the recent thread. These status posts tend to get lost in the shuffle.
    Gary, Hi!. I'm working on my '75. Trying to do things myself without bothering John. He did tell me that there was a thread about upgrading the brakes on their 650B with black SS brake lines with a write up with pictures and part numbers. Do you recall? Was it Mr Heubert by any chance?

    Gary, heard tell you tuned a couple of 38 round slides for one of your 650’s. Can ya fill me in? I have a couple i’m trying to get to work and am having trouble. Any help thanks.
    I can stop by and pick up the master cylinder. What day/time works for you?

    Any chance you have a TCI box for a 1983 xs650? JimD54 said you might have one for sale.
    My bike won't rev with the regulator plugged in.
    If you have any ideas about this let me know. Just replaced my regulator with no luck.

    GGGGAry, I've been lurking here long enough to finally create an account. It seems like every question you can "google" about an xs has your name somewhere in the thread so I thought I'd drop in and say hello and that I look forward to using your insight on this new project!
    GGGGary! Noticed u seem to have spare speedo drives foresail from a previous post.
    I need one for my 77 xs650 to try. Getting eratic speed fluctuations of like 40mph.I think its the speedo drive.

    Hey Gary. I was posting about my mixture screw being... "Screwed" up. I am looking to buy new ones because im having a hard time getting them out. But, rather than buying new ones if I sent them to you to get them taken out and new screws put in how much would it run me? And if I decide to get new ones which site should I buy from?

    How’s it going I’m new to this page but read a lot of posts for help and guidance. I just installed brand new pamco ignition on my 1980 XS650 and on the advance I overtightned the right side nut ( and wasn’t holding a 10mm on the left side stupid mistake) and broke the ends off my advance arms. I was wondering if anybody knew where I could find just the arms and not the whole assembly off mikes for $78?

    Hey Gary, just saw a 76 xs in Mosinee, WI for sale on craigslist that said ask for Gary. Is that you or someone else? It is 2 months old, wondering if that bike is still around.
    Need some info on float height. Have an 80 Special with BS34's with plastic floats. What is the proper float level. The Clymer manual says 27.3 mm but I've read that is for brass floats. The plastic floats I'm told should be set at 22.1 mm. I tried the plastic setting and gas started leaking out of the vent. Would appreciate advice. Thanks in advance.
