That explains the beauty of that hardtail!

Aside from it being a loop with the axle plates welded to the loop, it is the best rendition of a hardtail that I have seen for the XS650's to date. It actually has the overall lines of a big twin H-D frame which is what I believe most were trying to capture.

Beags64 aka Tim. I sent him the front brake plate for my '71 XS1B, as he was going to repair the broken speedometer cable lug on it. I sent it to him on November 3, 2023, and he acknowledged receipt on November 6, 2023. On February 6th, I checked in to see how it was coming and got no reply, so...

I have the original bracket assembly that came on my '71 XS1B. It is cracked/separated at the joint in the middle on one side. I can't imagine that any skilled metal worker couldn't fix it like new with minimal work. Or, maybe you can do it yourself. I happened upon another one, and don't need two.
