Best tire for XS 650 with a vintage look.

Cheng-Shin tyres, like the C180 or C199? Like an old Bates style tyre. Not sure if there is a size that fits but its the look. There are some Bates remakes out there too. Just google Bates tyres.

    rebuild help

XS-2 (72-73) engine: okay, rebuild is pretty straight forward, but what I want to know is can I use an engine case from another year; what year(s) will work? The reason being that the top half of the engine case has a piece missing out of it (another post, earlier). I may decide to rephase it...

broken case - what are my options?

ironsled77, i would pick up a motor but they are really hard to find here in the frozen north. Every piece of S#@* that somebody has is taken for gold. Can't even get a whole bike for under 2500.00. Just not enough of them here to begin with thus the steep price for crap. I will clean everything...

Manual - disassembly and assembly of the engine.

yes, i agree with xjwmx. there has to be a good complete manual somewhere that would have really decent pictures. I have the one which is in German, great pictures to go with the one from knucklebusters. Jeff

awesome yamaman. some of the pics and diagrams are super good, but some are really degraded, but all in all, this is what I need. I have copied it and will print it out in hard copy on monday. thanks. Jeff

Manual - disassembly and assembly of the engine.

okay, new guy!!!! This question has probably been asked and many of you vet's have given answers, but I have a 1972-73 xs650 XS2 engine and frame, with the engine partly disassembled. I am in need of a very thorough manual which would describe the complete tear down of the engine and...

    Lights

my two cents worth. all the above is correct but not legal in most places, not on a motorcycle anyway. not sure if you have run into that down south or not but up here in the frigid north for the three frickin' months that we can ride the f---ing police are as horny as a barn owl for anyone...
