    Intake manifold

In my experience, universal usually means universally sucks. The ones you want are from JBM here. Hope you're not in a hurry though because they won't be in for another month.

    Valve Guide Reamer Recommendation

Hugh measured OEM exhaust valves and found just that. From Hugh: Just make sure you have the proper clearance when you're done. According to Kibblewhite, the valve to guide clearances should be: Intake: 0.0008" to 0.0012" Exhaust: 0.0011" to .00150" That's for their stainless or...

    Cam Chain

650 Central has them for '74 onward (P/N: JTKR25-9723). You'll have to call him since he doesn't have an online shopping cart but i hear he's great to deal with. EDIT: Nevermind, even though he says it's endless, just below it is the masterlink that "must be purchased with the above chain."

xs650 71 (xs1b) - front wheel swap for disc brakes

The original '70 - '71 drum brakes used a 34mm fork up until mid '77. After that they switched to 35mm forks. To swap to a disc brake, you'll either need '72 - mid '77 front forks (34mm) that have the caliper mounts and matching caliper, and any year disc wheel. Or you'll need the triple...

    Anyone order from here before?

Can't say that I have. But I have purchased cloth covered plug wire from The Hot Rod Company. Cheap and easy to deal with, it's just copper core wire covered with cloth and laquered. They also sell cloth covered harness wire in various colors.

    highway (crash) bars.

Are you looking for a "nice" set? I have some that came with my bike when I bought but took them off. I still have them but they weren't in the greatest shape if I remember, a little spot rust here and there. Although it's been a few years since I've looked at them but they're yours if you...

Wanted - I need some PISTONS

I have a set of 4th over stock pistons and cylinders with less than 100 miles on them. They're not in pristine condition but they'll still work. Haven't cleaned them up yet but if you want pics let me know and we can figure something out.

    A Word of Caution

I finished cleaning up the rest of my cases and I still threw them in the dishwasher with some more soap. I like the color too, but it's not consistent enough. And I wasn't able to make the upper case half to fit-studs were too long. So I washed that one by hand. The rest of them came out...

    A Word of Caution

I did some more digging and this is what I found "Just wanted to warn everyone that I found out the hard way that all dishwasher detergents sold after July 1st this year [2010] have no phosphates. That is good and bad. Since it has no phosphates all of them WILL turn anything you have that is...

    A Word of Caution

So how is it that aluminum dishes don't corrode the same as my cases? Perhaps they're simply just a different aluminum alloy? I was planning using just plain water and flushing everything out. I know for copper you can mix a little lemon juice to make them shiny again. Think this will work...

    A Word of Caution

I know everyone's sideways glanced at their dishwasher thinking "If it cleans dishes..." Well I've tried it. Wasn't too thrilled with the results. But first a little background. I dipped the parts into a solvent tank to get rid of most of the oil and then soda blasted everything. Then I...
