Cleaning out the garage found unused aluminum parts that came with bike, forward controls, triple tree light mount & handlebar clamp. Not much on shipping so local pickup preferred. $40obo Richard

Had been looking for a couple XS650's to ride with the better half for a while. Found 2, an 80SG that hasn't run in 9yrs & a roller 72 basket case. 80SG is up and running after a few weeks going over and ready for inspection to be plated, 72' in progress. Richard So the '72 is almost back...

Lifted it up and used 2 jack stands under the front motor mount.

There's a few RX50's out there on Craigslist. I used SearchallCraigs.com to search for RX50 and came up with a bunch.

I use a large hose clamp around the speedo/tach to hold its form while prying out the lip. I've repaired quite a few of them with no re-assembly problems.

Rode to pick up some grease for triple tree bearings on the XS11. Finished them, a front tire replacement and went for a 75mi ride on the XS650. Was a great day, Sunny sky's, 75º with a light wind.:bike:

Woodford Reserve for a couple years now during the holidays and when I'm not drinking Tequila.

Woot.com had one a few days ago for $129, sold out pretty fast. Showed it to my son, he figured I was looking to buy and he walks in an early Christmas present so I didn't purchase a second! Looking forward to using it on the bike as well as out offshore on the boat.

Rebuilt the top end on a '76 I got for $150 that sat for 27 years, rode it 3years and sold it a few years ago. 76/77 MIK-I Carbs were a PIA but once set up along with 3 sets of points they worked fine. 78/79 had the newer MIK-II carbs and electronic ignition. Not much different than an XS650...

I owned an XV700 for about a year, which was a nice runner. Just not what I was looking for. Early 80's models had alot of problems with the starter/gear. Carbs were a PIA to R&R & setup. You can find alot more info Here: http://viragotechforum.com/portal.php Some good people over there as well.

Like XS11.com Kickstart will be on a 78 and 79. 80/81 they removed the kickstart shaft.

I bought one back in 1999 when we were running a few 2stroke 4wheelers and fouling plugs. I think I paid like $5 for it then. After you use it, make sure to inspect the plug as the aggregate used does get lodged between the insulator and the plug base. After seeing this and couldn't remove it...
