My tranny is pretty messed up. It grabs 4th gear about 1 out of 20 times in the way up. And it occasionally has trouble grabbing gears on the way down. Is a rebuild in store? Or are there other options?

I have only ever owned a kick only bike that is less than reliable... It came with a broken starter. Learning to ride was just a joy.

The electric starter on my 81 xs650 does not work. I actually makes some cool toy machine gun sounding noises. I wanna remove it and go to kick start only. Is that a pain in the dick or worthwhile?

The newest development is that the taillight only shows light when brake is hit. No matter which of the two non ground wires it plugs into. Planning on just running the taillight off the ignition or headlight.

A short set fire to my black plastic flasher relay on my 81 xs. The scrap yard only has a metal one. Will it suffice?

My 81 xs650 came without a taillight. I picked up an aftermarket one. The original wiring ran 6 wires to a plug. The taillight only had three. I cut the plug and stripped the wires. I ran the wires red to blue, yellow to black, and black to green. But after that whenever I hit the brakes the...

I have an 82 xs650. How hard is it to stretch some vinyl over the seat on the metal seat pans. I cant find an upholster to do it in my price range.

I have and 82 XS. I'm new to this whole bike working deal. Does anyone know the size of the bolt that holds on the kickstand? Thanks in advance.
