Got into checking coils and found a broken wire. So all is good. Thanks for the reply. John

Recently got my cafe racer running. Rephased engine and third over on bore. Was running very good, and suddenly stopped firing on the right side. Plugs have continuity, as well as plug wires. Coils also seem to be okay. Was wondering if anyone could inform me on how to test the Pamco ignition.

JP, thanks for information. I carefully went through Hugh's tutorial. Got everything right, and retarded the ignition a little. Fired rite away, sounds good. Thanks again, I just needed a little coaching. John

Hugh’s tutorial is good. That is what I used for install. Will go back and redo advance unit! Thanks

Left side is good, right she is off by 70 degrees!

Is on Left side compression stroke!

I see magnets on the outside of the trigger plate.

You know I mite have gotten it from Hugh’s.

Static time seems to work for me.

Static timing. Good spark and yes Right side is not on the mark. Trying to get pictures. I have a PMA and have timing marks.

77 XS650 Hughs rephase , now I can't get right cylinder to fire . Seems to be 70 degress off.

I have an 77 XS650 that I have rephased with a Hughs build. Pamco ignition installed. Everything is together but am having a hard time starting. I pulled covers off and static timed left cylinder. The problem is that the timing on the right cylinder is 70 degrees off from TDC. Does anyone have...
