XS2 Front Disc Brake - what fails ?

My 69 cb750 stops great. I believe Honda was first of the Japanese with disc and I believe used the same design on all cb/cl bikes without real change through all of production.

XS2 Front Disc Brake - what fails ?

Probably a production reason. Mine works just fine. Not significantly better or worse than the other bikes of the time period I’ve owned. *not an expert.

    Tail of the Dragon

We currently have a 32ft trailer that family stays in when visiting, but a 24ft Yurt is on our list of things to build over the next few years and ditch the trailer. They are quite impressive.

    74 xs650 advance spring question

Never put one in, but I was always taught to lap tapers so they don’t do this. Might be a good idea to make sure the tapers are making full contact. Anyone got thoughts? A bad idea for some reason??

Well I’m gonna go ahead and call the tank clear of sealer and rust free. And why not coat the oil tank with a bad sealer job too!!!! Ugh!! Haha. Gonna have to figure out a couple plugs to do the top half but I got the bottom half soaking in acetone. Carbs are apart and getting the...

    Painting Tins. No really...

I have never used that one. I typically use the formula 27 and the ultra light. And I like you, often know what needs to be done and yet… I soldier on in the wrong direction haha. I have a particularly hard time with dry times. I’m way impatient, mess with it too soon in the name of...

    Painting Tins. No really...

If you’re using actual bondo, I find evercoat to be a much better product. It costs more, buts it much better to play with. I use it everyday.

That’s pretty awesome. Based off the chrome headlight ears and no fork gators… 70. Very cool he still has it. I feel there are very few things left that are made today that are worth keeping 50+ years.

First shop - $375 to bore both cylinders! Second shop $270 - still ouch! Unless I’m shipping that’s all I got for options. Went with second shop. Pistons are on order. Cruzininage said it should be a few days. Machine shop quoted 3 day turn around. In the meantime, tank is soaking in...
