    My First Yamaha / 74 TXa650?

To me that is the prettiest XS ever...it always bums me out when I hear people chop 'em up...but that's just me. I had a chance to buy one just like that several years ago and I was hurtin' for money so I passed it up. I could kick myself. I love the color.

1973 XS2 How Many In The UK?

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe the XS-2 was only produced in 1972. The TX-650 was produced in 1973.

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

Ha! Thanks guys - I'm afraid you're all right and that I just bought something I can't use (sigh) Oh well, it's only money ;) . Haven't heard from the seller yet. But thanks again for your thoughtful answers!

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

Thanks Weaselbeak and CalsXS2! It is looking more and more like I can't use 'em. If the seller won't let me cancel the purchase, I'll have to figure out what else I can do with them. Otherwise I may have to resort to "Forking by Frank" to get new tubes.

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

Thanks for responding gggGary. I am currently exploring with the seller if I can cancel the purchase. I certainly understand if he declines to do this and maybe if I end up with the 74 tubes I can experiment to see what parts I can interchange, huh?

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

Thanks for responding, TwoMany. I don't supposed it would be possible to switch the ends caps from my bike to the '74 forks and make it work, huh?

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

Thanks, Scabber...I'm afraid I already bought the ones off Ebay. By the way, do you know a good source for tubes? Mike's XS hasn't had tubes for my bike for a couple years now. I have contacted "Forking by Frank" and they quoted me nearly $300 bucks for tubes for my bike.

Will 1974 Yamaha 650 fork tubes fit on my 1972 XS-2?

I have been fairly desperate to find replacement fork tubes for my 1972 XS-2 (they are badly rusted) so tonight I found what I thought was a really good deal on a pair of fork tubes (complete inner/outer tubes in good condition) on Ebay. The seller stated "if I recall correctly they came off a...
