New Seals without a retaining ridge

Yes, I noticed that yours was pretty much destroyed in the process. Figured you must have gotten ahold of it with pliars. Okay, I will give that go. Thanks again.

New Seals without a retaining ridge

I am considering the bushing as you suggest 5twins. In the article you refer to you say " Once I removed it, I found it was"... would you have any tips on how to remove the existing bushing? I have no idea other than I might try to rig up some kind of contraption to go in there and push it...

New Seals without a retaining ridge

That was going to be my next question. Whether I should I use Yamabond around it or not. My crankcase is apart so I can pretty easily put it all around the OD. Will put some grease in the ID as well. Thanks 5twins!

    Pulling the Barrels

"Hate to ask, but have you done the obvious? Is the head off?" Yes, the head is off. Cam tensioner is out. Cam chain guide is out. Oil feed pipe is off. Everything obvious is off but it won't budget. Wondering if there is something else I am missing. Sorry, should have been more explicit...

    Pulling the Barrels

Hi XS650 fans, I am tearing down the engine of my 72 XS and am stuck on the cylinder barrels. I can't get it separated from the top engine casing. The crank turns fine so the pistons are not stuck at all. Just seems like the gasket is holding tight or something. I have hit it a few times...
