I recently bought a 1980 hardtail. I noticed that all the motor mount bolts have been left slightly loose. Is this typical. I get an annoying rattle that I believe is coming from them . Would it be o k to use high temp "o" rings on the bolts and nuts? This would still allow the motor to vibrate...

My rear drum brakes do almost nothing. I followed some advice from othe threads, pulled shoes, sanded shoes and housing. put it back together and absolutly no improvement. Ordered new shoes from Mikes. Hope that fixes it. Old shoes were about 1\8" thick and badly glazed.

Does anyone have any tricks for "setting" the wrap when it's done. Seems like there should be some sort of spray or something that would keep it from fraying or loosening up.

I have a new to me xs650 bobber. It appears to have been built by competant people. It has run well for the few short rides i've done. After a longer ride with warm temps I noticed the when I shift into neutral the bike all of a sudden reves up to a little over 3000 all by itself.I tryied...
