Cast wheel replacement for spoked drum brake rear whee

Hi again folks, sunny Vancouver Island cafe racer man checking in. Is there a cast rear wheel with a drum brake I can use on my 77 roadster (standard)? I would prefer a 18 inch but would use a 16 inch if I have to... I have today swapped the front wheel from spoked to cast because the...

    Master cylinder front twin disc

My take on "wooden" brakes is imagine squeezing a wooden fence post, no movement no matter how hard you squeeze... with brakes a combination of too large a diameter master cyl with braided brake lines gives a brake lever that doesn't move much when it is squoze. Squeeze it harder and you get...

Makes a heluvamess over the back of the bike, but that's what the Great God Honda and mothership yamahamaha invented chain guards for... but that's a whole nother thing to disagree about!

Why won't the rear disc brake bleed and pump up?

When returning a bike brake system to use from a total strip down, clean and rebuild it can be a devil of a job to fill and bleed the system. The difficulty is getting all the air out of the hydraulic cylinder of the master cyl. It can take ages and hundreds of pumps. One way of speeding the...

Fleabuy, came from India i believe. I bought the wrong ones and needed to become creative, bought the custom bike ones instead of the roadster ones. They work well but don't pivot up. I use a pair of axle stands under them as I ditched the centre stand. I also was able to tuck the 2:1 in...

How the XJ Seca turned out

Yup, darn near ampussable The issue is that cv carbs require still air from which to draw from. Bike manufacturers go to great lengths to design air boxes to provide still air for the carbs even at high rpm, road speeds and throttle openings. Individual pod type air filters work fine on...

    Fork Shaving

This "no front brake" thing I simply don't get. When the front brake of a bike, single disc or twin disc, provides at least 2/3rds of the vehicle braking, why oh why would anyone want to reduce the capability of their bike? Any "shaved" riders brave enough to tell their stories of failing to...
