    Head removal.

Thanks for the quick reply. What a crazy design ! I'm surprised some ingenious person hasn't come up with a way to circumvent the need to remove the engine for a head off work.

    Head removal.

just been thinking about taking the head off my xs and getting it gas flowed. Until I read that to get the head off you have to remove the engine from the frame. Is this right? Then I read that when you have removed the head you can slot the bolts so next time the head can be removed without...

    Clymer workshop manual

Does anyone have a Clymer workshop manual with the Don't Vesco extras for sale. Or maybe a very good photo copy ( with clear copy of the photo graphs). Preferably in the UK. As postage from the States seem CRAZY. Or someone willing to email the important pages I need.

    Identifying bike parts

I think you have answered two of my questions. The carbs must be 34mm photos attached anyway. And the mag wheels have the suitable for tubeless. The frame problem will have to stay problem. Thanks every one for your help. I did not expect so much controversy over the mag wheels, although it's...

    Identifying bike parts

Vin plate is no longer on the frame, the powder coating has covered the frame number on the head stock. The bike is a xs650sh U.S. import as identified by the engine number 4M4001877. Also a manual I have says the wheels could be tubed or tubeless. As to the carburetors, they have pod filters...

    Identifying bike parts

How to identify what carburetors you have?. Are the cast wheels tubed or tubeless without removing the tyre? And the frame, as my frame has been powder coated so the vin plate has been removed and the frame number powder coated over.

    Weight loss?

Thanks for that Willis. But I don't like that hole configureration. It doesn't look uniform, even though it is if you follow.

    Weight loss?

I would be interested in where you got the hole configuration for your drilled discs?

    Weight loss?

But spending cash on extra bhp would then show up the poor handling and braking. To the others thank you for your input. I was hoping for some upgrades that would benefit the handling and the braking in straight swop for some 2020's technology without took much hassle. Originality is not...

    Weight loss?

What realistically can you reduce the weight of the xs650 to without spending silly amounts of money? And what are the easiest parts to change/modify? I want to make my xs650SH a bit faster. So weight loss must be the way to go, as this will benefit braking and maybe handling on the cheap.
