I got a hold of a Tarozzi fork brace for my '76. To install the fork seals need to be remove,d. What is the correct procedure to do this? or how have you done it so that the seals can be reused?

The lock that came on my bike is missing the helmet holder. I wanted to take this one and put it on my bike. I'm thinking it might be easier to switch locks.

Yeah I would like to save the lock assembly if possible.

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove the pin that holds in the helmet holder from the lock? You can't punch it out because it only goes in one way.

Are all brake pedals compatible with each other? I have a 76 xs650 with drum and I'm wondering if a brake pedal from a 78 xs750 special will work. I think the special had a rear disc.

Is there a trick to getting the cover to slide back on? It keeps getting stuck on the kick starter side. My manuals offer no instruction on this.

Thanks! It's really strange that it leaked. The original gasket looks fine.

Do you use red or blue?

Do you coat both sides of the gasket?

I had a leak from the bottom of the right side crank case so I decided to pull it and replace the gasket. My question is, when installing a new gasket is it necessary to add some RTV sealant?

disregard. I read on another thread that you cant shift with out the rear wheel moving. I manually rotated the wheel and I was able to shift. Thanks all!

ok I got the ball in and the adjuster is looking as it should. New problem... I cant shift past neutral. Any ideas of what might be causing this?

yeah its gone. I picked one at my local hardware store and I'm going to replace it after work. Thanks for the advice! One more question, how would you clean this area?
