Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

So... I just got back from Europe and left the brake zip-tied overnight once more and yet still this brake gets spongey once rolled. Is there maybe an issue with the caliper? Might have to just replace all the parts again because this doesn't seem normal!

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

And this is why I bought a 650. Love this community. Thank you all. Zip-tied and will leave it be for 24 hours. Will update!

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

I see little bubbles come out from the MC when I slowly press the lever in (avoiding splashing).

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

Caliper is OEM. I had to get a new MC from Mikes (14mm). Maybe it's that.

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

Not a single leak anywhere. I am completely baffled.

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

No luck. Just spent another hour doing said methods. Literally hold pressure, I roll it 4 feet, and I squeeze the lever and no brake pressure applied (I can roll the tire as if there are no brakes).

Attempt #8 Bleeding Brand New Brake MC and New Caliper/Pads

Hi all. I've got my 74 pretty much dialed in but the front brake is just not bleeding. It is a brand new 14mm MC with steel lines and a brand new caliper with pads. I have quite literally tried everyone's variation of "how to" yet still find my brake not working as it should. It seems perfect...

She runs! Definitely needs a tune, but kicked on first try.

    She's done. Next step... ride.

Absolutely. I just rebuilt and rewired an entire bike with no past experience. But, no, I am not actually scared.

    More on the '74

As always, incredibly helpful. Like you mentioned before, I went ahead and ordered a brand new 18" rim with complete hub, spacers, etc. that I am looking to swap with the 16". I know the rim/tire will still relatively have similar diameter, thinking of maybe going shorter on the shocks. I went...

    More on the '74

I found these at 14.25", slightly shorter but will give the chain a tad more clearance than it has now. The progressive 412s bolt right on? https://www.ebay.com/itm/195325697288?ViewItem=&item=195325697288 Thanks.

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

@jpdevol wired the throttle with new housing, downward, through the left side, and using a couple of zip ties at the throttle case connection. Snaps back and works like a charm. 95% complete. Thank you for the help along the way!

    More on the '74

I've managed to do more than I intended, but it feels like the right move. This '74 currently has adjustable hydraulic springs on the rear and eye-to-eye is about 14.5". Looking to replace these with ones not fitted with the hydraulic separate ugly tank or find a way to adjust the tanks to fall...

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

Thank you for the tips. I just ordered brand new, OEM cables and a new throttle housing. Will do all the steps over again with new parts and see how it goes. Coming to the final stages.

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

Correct! Do you know how to use the screws on the housing? Not sure of the use.

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

The cables are genuine OEM from Japan. Cables are lubed. Metal tube. It does extend beyond the bar just a smidge. grip is not rubbing.

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

Thank you. I just realized this yesterday doing more research.

    Dual Pull Throttle Body Adjustments

Yes, this is how I bought the bike of the original owner. I know that the housing should be downward and cables run down the left and right respectively. I purchased another housing like the one you sent below because it seemed this old one was pieced together. Not sure what the screws are that...
