    Mock up.

60mm riser for the Tracker bars gave me a nearly neutral position on the bike. Looks a little funny by themselves in my opinion. Still trying to figure what finish to use on the fork and calipers.

    Mock up.

Saved up, it's time to have my rear wheel built. Buchanan's did a beautiful job on the front, I can't wait to see the rear!

    Mock up.

New plan. Found this fender/bracket on webike Japan. They are made for the SR500 with a 18" wheel. I feel the fender holds are reminiscent of the original 1975 fender. The whole thing is made of polished stainless steel.

    Mock up.

The idea was to use a fork brace with the replica xj700 fender. The parts are great. But, with the front lowered. I used Racetech straight rate springs, emulators and a HHB lowering kit. The brace looks giant. I am also using a 18" wheel. That didn't help. I had this planned from the beginning...

Still working on the front. But, happy day! 13 3/4 Dial-a-Ride sprung for my less than skinny body.

    Mock up.

Found the headlight I had in mind for George. I was looking at 2007-2017 Jeep headlights. They are plastic lenses and the flange is kinda thick. This is from Napa. It fit nicely in the factory bucket, takes a 9003/ H2-H4 halogen bulb. The reflector is cast aluminum and the lens is clear glass. I...

    Disk spacer

I believe the one I have cost $125.00 each. Semi-floating. I weight them when they arrived. I think they are 3.2 pounds lighter. Don't quote me on that, It's been 6 months or so. Memories not what it was.

They fit . They came from xs650 Direct.com . There are two 1/4" brass spacers in the package to move the caliper in toured the center. The actual disk is 5mm thick and isn't dished out nearly as much approximately 1/4" less Than the factory rotors.

So, still just a mock-up. The spacers are a 1/4" thick and leave just enough shoulder to center the rotors. I am using the 320mm disk"s" from xs650 direct . Anyone who has bought them knows they come with 1/4" spacer to move the caliper in to the center. Moving the rotors out looks much beefier.

    Just Ride.

January 26th, work load was light. I only needed a couple of tools and had to visit 3 jobs. 50° mostly sunny home before dark and about 180 miles on MC1240

    From the beginning...

I started a thread about George, my 1975 XS650B Mock-up with out any background or intention of the build. I have loved the look and sound of the XS's since my friends Dad brought home a black 1979 special home new in 1980. I was 10 years old at the time my ride was a 1975 xr75. Wish I still...
