SOLD
I am putting up my 1983 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special motorcycle for sale, which has only 7872 miles on it. It starts right up (kick or battery), and runs and rides great. It recently had a new battery installed, the front brake caliper rebuilt, and the carbs cleaned. Mechanically, it is a very sound bike and is in great shape, with only a very small oil leak (from the drain plug I believe). Cosmetically, the bike is in good shape as well. The only flaws are some oxidation of the aluminum components (such as front forks, engine covers, and the rear grab bar), some very minor surface rusting of fasteners here and there, and some damage to the tank paint. The tank has some minor dents, surface rusting, and some strange scratches on the left hand side (tried to show all of this in the pics). The bike was recovered from an estate salvage and unfortunately has no keys, but has been cleanly rewired to use a toggle switch which is hidden on the frame. The gas cap was also modified by removing the rollers so it can be opened by any key. Also, a padded sissy bar is included (currently not installed on bike). Overall, this is a great riding bike and could serve as a great vehicle as is, or become someone's very nice project. I am asking $1800 obo, and am located in Nortern NJ and am available to help with delivery for the right price. Thanks.
