battery exposure to weather?

Hey All,

Quick question, working on my battery box today and notice that ALOT of people kind of leave their batteries fairly exposed to the elements. We get a fair bit of rain here and am wondering if I get caught in the rain it will cause problems if I do not have the battery fully enclosed?
