25-4-1915-2017. Remembrance day for the Anzac's, (Australia New Zealand Army Core), who fought and died in the great war. This day is to commemorate the loss of life and the good will of the men who fought in that campaign on the peninsula of the Dardanelles in Turkey.

We should not forget the sacrifices and the work done by the nurses who also lost lives and the atrocious conditions they were made to work in, and the suffering they had to deal with that was demanded of them.

Although it is a remembrance for our 2 countries it also is to commemorate the Turks on their generosity, and the common soldier who did not loose their humanity, or who learned what the term, humanity, meant.

If any one is interested here are 2 links to 2 Australian Mini series.

One covers the campaign of the Soldiers who landed and fought in the now named Anzac Cove. Although there may be some artistic license it does nothing to cover up the ill thought out and demands made by the high command that was the cause of this great tragedy.

The second is another Australian mini series that covers the lives of 5 nurses, (true story), who traveled to the peninsular to tend the wounded. Again this is a true enactment of these girls lives in this situation and the surviving members spoke at the end of the series.........The quality is not the best

I would like to take the time to remember all of those, (all over the world), who not only suffered the ultimate Sacrifice. Also those who have participated and especially those, their families and friends who have suffered and are still suffering from the trauma these conflicts cause.

Thanks for posting that Skull. I've been gone from NZ for many years, but ANZAC day still comes to mind each year. The time when the two countries become of age, as the saying goes.
