Pod Filters ? or stick a hot poker in your eye ?

T The pushing on the throttle shaft is the big indicator...

Yes thats it isn't it .! (lightbulb goes on somewhere in the dark recesses of Peanut's feeble mind)

i'd been thinking all along that the throttle shaft and butterfly disks havn't been returning fully ..........whereas pressing on the throttle shaft lever is actually forcing the disks beyond the idle setting to compensate for excess air being drawn in somewhere else .....

Thank you Twomany ..sometimes its easy to miss the wood when you're looking at the trees:laugh:

well just an update on this issue of a hanging idle . I removed the pods and took a couple of test runs and there was absolutley no perceptable difference in starting or running.

So the internal rubber lip of some of the tapered pleated pod filters is not responsible for the hanging idle but clearly do partially block some of the intake holes in the mouth of the venturi which is not good.

So its back to the drawing board but look what arrived in this mornings post !

Yew fergot one:

The labelling should be rotated to horizontal so folks can read the "RAM" branding...

Hi 2many,
not anyone with drafting/machining experience.
We can read stuff even if it's written sideways or upside down.
Holding the drawing up to the light to read it from the back (as is helpful in making a mirror image of the part) means reading stuff backwards.
Which can be done but it takes practice.
