Fred- at 57 i know all about drafting. trained in it, still have a large board and machine with all equipment. a lost art. i hated PC's and CAD at first but like most new tech- it's a quantum leap in design and manufacturing and i am no longer a Luddite...
Brian- i think your suggestion of the clay bar prompted me to experiment a bit. it's counterintuitive for us non-pro painters to go at fresh paint with abrasives, but it's all about the micro surface as you know. i'm pretty sure any paper would have dulled the finish on that tank though, so i'm pretty happy with the result.
mddawg- go for it with that nice tank you've got. it'll look great on a custom build.
