It appears to be a 1978 or 1979 650 Special tank.

honestly i don't know what year its off of. i bought the tank sight unseen because it was advertised as a 72 tank and obviously its not a 72. i think danno's right though looks exactly like a 78 tank i had a few months back. still for sale if anyone out there needs it. didn't mean to hijack the thread. PM if interested in the tank

Gascaps on Specials are offset, Standards are dead center.

I have a tank off a 79 or 80 special, the inside is mint and the outside has "NO" dents, it is faded and will need painting. $40 +shipping. thx don
