Hi, just got my new brass bushings installed in the swing arm. The pivot tube will fit in pretty easy by hand, but doesn't really spin on it's own. It's also not greased yet. Will this be an issue? Anything I can do to correct? Maybe lightly sanding the ends of the tube til it spins freely?

Yet another Austin mofo! I can't believe the number of xs650s in Austin. It's phenomenal. And vintage bikes in general. I want to get back down there.

I think you're good to go - better tight than loose. Be sure to grease it all good before you put it in. Don't depend on just the grease nipples. Although you will have to later.

You should be adding better ways to grease those new bushings. The original set-up isn't designed to grease that new type of bushing.

I want to get back down there.

Well, c'mon. Lotsa hill country waitin'for ya.

Gotta warn you though, 3-year drought takin' it's toll, lakes nearing record low levels, Carlos 'n Charlies closed down and auctioned off, and talks of emergency water rationing...
