BIG MOUTH with a microphone!

I have read this thread and found it very interesting reading.
As I have said before a firearm is no different than a hammer, screwdriver or a pipe wrench. It's just a tool.
The person using the tool is the problem, not the tool.
As far as people killing people, we have been doing that since we were people. The only way to stop people killing people is to eliminate people.

I'll throw a bone.
2nd amedment rights.
Aren't we WAY past the point that a civilian uprising would be viable.
We already know the American military will kill civilian Americans on order. Kent State.
So....the argument of futility in a person with a pistol circumventing an armed invasion by someone with an assault rifle. Couldn't that thought be carried further. Me and my 870 are no match for the trained military.
At the time that was written (2nd amendment) the difference in fire power and organization wasn't as great.

Very true. - Although I wouldn't ever want to mess with the Constitution, the gov'ment's got jets and tanks and stuff. Maybe now it comes down to the right to protect/defend oneself.

Well, the Nazi's had tanks, rockets, and bombers but the French (and other) Resistence was surely more effect with firearms than they would have been without them.

There are those who would rather be a dead resister than a live slave.

My momma used to tell me, "you are going to lose some fights, but be sure to get your licks in."

Yep, Clinton years laws. And after everyone forgot about them, they were removed. Remember when all the American flags appeared after 9-11? Then, after Joe public found another shiny object to chase, they slowly disappeared. Funny how easy we lose interest in stuff. Like outlaw choppers.

What about England? They took all the civilian weapons and outlawed them. Then the Germans caused some trouble and the Brits got weapons from us in case of an invasion. You could actually donate a gun to a Brit. "Lend-Lease" program.

We're being '84'd' by incrementalism.

'84 "incremements":

"extraordinary rendition"
U.S. military can arrest, indefinitely detain, torture, anyone-anywhere, without criminal charges or even notification of the arrest.

Executive "due process"
U.S. President can execute anyone-anywhere-any time, without criminal charges or judicial review, simply on his own say-so.

Add to those the ability of the government to monitor virtually all communications.

Does "all enemies foreign and domestic" now include our own government?

You mean this and this

I don't know about the other states but here in Florida blackpowder rifles and pistols are not firearms go figure. I have both and enjoy shooting them as well. and a modern muzzel loader hits what its aimed at just like firearms go figure

There are some guys I shoot with that have modern inline muzzleloaders. Buy them right out of a catalog, no check. I have seen them consistently hit pie plates at 400 yrds. And that's a .50 cal Powerbelt. The .36-.42 cal guys with round ball are going a touch farther.
