I tried using the spray paint technique and spent way more time on it than it was worth. While it looked good, it still didn't have the gold-chrome appearance I was after. I even tried real gold-leaf. That looked okay as well, but didn't deliver. I finally took the vinyl route to get the results I was after. Yes, I was that stubborn on not wanting to spend the $ to buy after-market emblems (even though it would have been cheaper for me to do so, looking back). If you opt for painting, use a wide foam brush and hold the emblem upside down. Foam, so no bristles to get into low areas and upside down so paint won't flow into low areas. I used hardware store gold paint sprayed in a paper cup and it worked pretty well.
Not really trying to sell them, per se, as the intention is to not make money. Had to buy a full roll of vinyl, and since we had the cutting machine, thought I'd offer them up to anyone who would like a set. Pretty much just covers cost for shipping plus a little labor time for my daughter who cuts out the letters for me. Once the roll of vinyl runs out, I'll delete the post. Love the "space blanket" comment. Fits with a 40 year old Yamaha....kinda like the Jetson's.Mylar is super thin and shiny. If you can find a gold-colored space blanket you can do several thousand with it
P.S. Didn't realize this is in the classifieds and our friend is selling them. Looks great - I'd buy a pair.

Hi Jim, sorry for this late reply.....work had me heads down way too much lately. Yes, we can get more sets cut with no problem. Might take a few days lead time but we'll get them out. Just let me know....Sittin' here thinkin' (yeah... dangerous...) I might try a clear epoxy pour on my next test piece. You have any left if I need 'em?

To those that have requested another set of badges, I appreciate your patience. I'll get them sent out as soon as my daughter is able to run a batch. You should hopefully see the new badges show up within the next two weeks. Apologize for the delay....at the mercy of my daughter's schedule.
