Got a little work done on Handle bars and seat this weekend.
Nice diy tube notcher.
Got the bolts for my homemade handlebars sorted out. Now i just need to make a center brace/speedo mount and get a headlamp mount made. The head lamp is an old unity searchlight off a cop car so it doesn't have the necessary mounting points for motorcycle.
Started getting the rear brake pedal/foot peg mount sorted.
Started making a wood buck to form my "oil tank". I'll make the "oil tank" out of this hunk of plywood, use it to make paper patterns to transfer to metal, then form the metal pieces around the plywood buck. Easy-peasy.
That's some serious DIY!
Nah.... a serious DIY'er woulda laminated his own plywood too...

Got the basic shape of the oil tank established, now to tweak it a little
Aluminum or steel?
I’ve always made them out of stainless and polished them in the past. Polished aluminum would look pretty good... If I go with steel it will be painted or chromed. Haven’t quite worked out the access door on the top yet. If I had the resources I’d make the horseshoe out of cast aluminum with some fins and weld the back, top, and bottom to it. But that would insanely expensive. I might have to come over and use your welder if I do aluminum. Hmmmm, to many decisions
