Hi all Fitting a new Cam Chain to my 256 XS2 engine. I have ordered the right chain but when I fit it its very tight like a guitar string is this normal prior to torquing the head down?

I'm currently building my engine but I haven't got my PMA kit yet. Can you time the engine up without a flywheel connected? I plan to set the engine at TDC then set the Cam with the timing mark straight up as per manual. Will that give me the correct timing? Thanks for any advice

Already managed to buy the wrong pistons on my XS2 so I dont want to make the same mistake again. I have the opportunity to buy some XS1 pistons, are they the same as the XS2 pistons (256 engine I checked the conrod)? Thanks

Fitted the later swingarm and it went in easy enough (main problem was rusted rear spindle refusing to budge). But Is the rear spindle on the later bikes longer?? Or have I made a faux par?
